Beautiful spot, lots of parking (parking lot closed from 8pm to 7am daily although parking outside by wall is allowed), grassy area, sand, sloping areas, restrooms available.
The menehune are Hawaii's little people, ranging in height from 6 inches to 2 1/2 feet tall, who live deep in the forests or in hidden valleys or caves. They use their engineering skills to build roads, fishponds, temples, walls, canoes, and houses. They always work at night and sometimes leave their work unfinished. They are known pranksters and may fiddle with your GPS signals. Just try to get within 20 feet of their cache then hunt using your menehune mana(power). Leave them a gift or a trade item, then go and enjoy this beautiful playground of theirs.
