Back in 2005, the announcement went out around the state, Nevada
had finally qualified for its own Volunteer Reviewer, RoadRunner.
Since then, he's worked really hard at ensuring that caches are
published quickly, that problems are addressed professionally, that
cache maintanence is handled in a timely fashion, and that all
cachers throughout Nevada remember that this is a game and that we
are supposed to be having fun.
Since I pretty much hijacked him, RoadRunner will be joining us
in Tonopah to assist in placing and publishing new caches for the
main junction in Central Nevada. But, he happened to make the
mistake of mentioning that Sunday, October 21st, is his birthday.
So, let's throw a huge party to celebrate and thank RoadRunner for
his dedication to the sport of geocaching and his passion for
improving the game here in Nevada and around the west.
We're meeting at the Tonopah Elk's Lodge, 241 Central St, (775)
482-6850
We will have food! Breakfast will be at 8am and the Cub Scouts
will be cooking up a buffet breakfast, complete with pancackes,
bacon, hashbrowns, and scrambled eggs. Coffee, juice, milk, and
water will be available. Cost is $8 for everyone.

We will have finds! RoadRunner has agreed to allow myself and
those helping me with this event to place caches around Tonopah to
increase the number of caches available to everyone for this event
and who are passing through in the future. Have your Pocket Queries
set to run Saturday for the most up-to-date information. Also, I'll
have my laptop available at the Elk's Lodge on Sunday to download
waypoints for those who can load their PQ before. Please Do NOT
Place Caches unless you frequently visit Tonopah. RoadRunner
will be enforcing the No Vacation Caches rule.
Tonopah offers many fine hotels and motels. The "unofficial"
headquarters will be at the Best Western Hi-Desert Inn - 320
S. Main Street - (877) 286-2208. There is high speed internet in
all the rooms, if you don't have an ethernet cable, the hotel does
offer them. There are also computers in the lobby for customer
use.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on October 21st! For more
