Geocache Description:

Visiting Slingerland Park in Historic Mantorville you will find a memorial arch and plaque. Wander among extremely old pines on your way to the cache.

The arch, plaque and walkway remain, years after is they were constructed. The plaque honors local residents who faught in the 'War of Nations', also known as The First World War, The Great War, "The War To End All Wars" and World War I.

Pines of a few species tower over the land, suspected to be over a hundred years old.

There was once a gazebo/bandshell in this park...perhaps again this will be a site for performing arts.

Remember: With all caches, 'trade even' or 'trade up' to keep it fun for everyone!
