This cache is hid in a camoflaged peanut butter jar about 5m (estimate) from the trail around the dazzling turquoise waters of Kentucky Lake in the Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Campground and is about a 500m easy walk from the day parking spot at the north end of the lake at N49° 54.335, W120° 33.940. It contains the usual caching info sheet, pencil & logbook as well as trading items.
Please be careful when retrieving the cache as its hidey hole is decaying and if you are too rough, the container will lose its underlying support. Also, you will need to replace the piece that fits under it and holds it up.
When camping, what better thing than to have some caches to find! This is Farwood's favorite campground and it was brought to our attention from their geocache logs of the other nearby caches. As they are relatives of ours, we thought we'd dedicate this cache to them so they have another cache to find when they come camping here, and its our way of thanking them for bringing this area to our attention.
As this cache is meant to be a "tease", hopefully after finding this cache you will be enticed to continue your hike to the next cache "Turquoise, Turn Around" GCPY1T which is about 1.2 km further ahead. If you walk around the whole lake, a 4km loop, it should take you about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. to do.
Check out the beaver lodge at N49 54.096 W120 33.974 which is about 82m before you get to the cache if you come in from the west side of the lake. Fishing from this spot is quite good as well.
Note: if you are enticed to go wading, be careful of the "teasing" sandy edges. You might sink up to your ankles (or deeper) in mud like I did!
