Once upon a time three members of a family were venturing home from a long journey abroad. Two had traveled from the land of California, and one a shorter distance from the great city of Ames, home to the mighty Cyclones! As they were nearing their destination, they looked off to their right and beheld a BADGER at the road’s edge. The BADGER glared at the three travelers and then scurried back to its home through the high prairie grass at the road’s edge. The two travelers seated in the front looked at each other and yelled, “It’s a BADGER!” and the sleepy traveler in the back grunted. The three travelers told the rest of their family the tale, but no one believed them, and thus the BADGER watch was born! Keep a weather eye to the road’s edge, for that is where the BADGER lies!
