Geocache Description:

This cache is a cammoed PB container hidden in the woods. A bit hilly, but beautiful views. You can access the top of Dried Meat Hill, but please use respect for the land owner.

Ka-ke-wuk is cree for Dried Meat. This hill overlooks Dried Meat Lake, an historical site were native tribes preserved their meat by hanging it on drying racks. An abundance of chokecherries in the area facilitated the making of pemmican, as well. Located along Range Road 195, the cache is best approached from the south. The road does get some muddy spots if there has been a lot of rain or in the early Spring.
