It's an easy multi-cache situated in the village of Yatton Keynell which is close to the hamlet of Tiddleywink and iconic Cotswold village of Castle Combe where they actually filmed the harbour scenes of the original Dr Dolittle. The above co-ordinates are for the suggested parking which has space for two cars on a good day. Regrettably a stile has to crossed
This cache was set up as a thank you to Holly from Reno in Nevada who sent the Wiltshire geocachers a 'Red Jeep'TB. Yatton Keynell is a Cotswold village with the church of St Margaret of Antioch at it's centre. The church was founded in 1250 by Sir William Keynell, whose family were lords of the manor at the time hence the name of the village. He built the church as a thank you offering for his safe return from the Crusades. This explains the unusual dedication of the church to St Margaret of Antioch who was an Eastern saint who was swallowed by a dragon, but then escaped.
In order to find the cache two clues have to be sought and answered.
Clue 1: On the telegraph pole near to the suggested parking at N51 29.347 W002 11.525 there are four numerals preceded by the letter 'A'. List the four numerals as A, B, C, D. Clue 2:Then not far away is an ornamental gate made up of horse shoes at N51 29.348 W002 11.530. List how many horse shoes as E,F.
The cache my now be found at:
N51 29.F(A+E)C W002 11.(C+A)(A+CxE)(D+E+C)
The cache consists of a small plastic lock tight box in a camo bag containing log book and small swaps. Be sure to remain on road/track and Public Footpaths at all times. Also please ensure that the cache is well hidden before departing. Oh! by the way a bit of old bread and a carrot may not go amiss, especially if you have youngsters with you.
Have fun.........
