Essonville Offerings Multi-Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache offers 2 of eastern Haliburton County's most picturesque locations. That's why it's a 2 stage cache.
Established in 1888 as the centre of this rural community this structure has been restored and continuously maintained thanks to generous donations of time and finances from today's community. The gate opens but it sticks because it is not the original gate. Someone recently stole the gate along with a few cedar rails. Keep your eyes open for the gate in your geocaching forays down back roads.
Parking for the 1st stage is NO LONGER limited. Because of the corner Please park in the new parking lot south of the church rather than on the side of the road.
Coordinates for the 2nd stage of this cache are:
N 45 00.ABC
W 078 1D.EFG
Decipher these coordinates by paying your respects at the grave of Thomas Clark and family.
Thomas Clark's age at death + son Thomas age at death, X 5 + the day Charlotte died = ABC
Month son Thomas died = D
Year Eliza Jane died - year wife Charlotte died = EF
Year Thomas Clark died - year son Thomas died = G
At the 2nd stage, again, please don't park on the shoulder of the road. The owner has granted permission to pull into Rowbotham Lane and park just off to the side so as not to block the road way.
Please stay between the fence and the road when searching for the cache. Of interest, there's a surveyors marker in the general area that is kind of neat, but has nothing to do with the cache.
Cache is a camouflaged micro ...... not as difficult as that may sound.
