Geocache Description:

Nice camp ground in Manning Park.

Mule Deer Campground in Manning Park Perhaps not the largest and most popular campground in Manning Provincial Park, but it is nice and quaint, that's "Q-U-A-I-N-T" not "Q-U-I-E-T". We have camped in Manning Park for ages but this year decided not to inhabit our usual spot in Lightning Lakes, but to try Mule Deer, and hence the need to hide a cache here. Mule Deer campground has nice river front sites, if you're lucky enough to grab one. We spent 5 days in site 42, right on the river, great for the kids to cool off, private enough to wash off the grime of camping, course that makes my life easier as then they don't need to use the shower in the camper. This should be a fairly easy cache, if you are not camping here, please park at the visitors parking by the entrance, N 49 05.407 W120 40.931. You should be able to pop in and get it relatively easily. You can park here also if the campground is closed and walk in, a short walk, less than 100m. Please be courteous of campers and do not disturb them. The cache is located in an area that is visible by maybe one or two campsites, but you should be ok. The best time to grab this cache is during the day as most people use this campground as a stop over, not many that stay more than one day will be in the area directly adjacent to the cache hiding spot. I was unable to get accuracy better than 6m, likely due to the mountains on both sides of the area so here is a peek at the site. And here is another little hint... If you were wondering about the "Quaint" vs. "Quiet", although we really liked this campground, you will hear traffic along the Hope-Princeton all night, although it does quiet down, you can hear the traffic over the babbling brook. We also had a young black bear make an appearance across the river during our stay.
