Geocache Description:

This is one in a series of caches that will take you to Greers Ferry Lake, thus the name. Along your tour you will see many of the highlights and/or businesses that are available in the Heber Springs area. You may even learn a little history or find out about a business located in this small rural town. These caches are micros and hidden in traditional ways. They only contain a log. Please bring a writing instrument with you. This cache is located in a high muggle area and is wheelchair accessible. As of 9/26/17 there isn't a series of caches to obtain a final location. Some of this series are remaining as stand alone caches. Congratulations to Eagle95 FTF on 8/17/07 If you have comments or suggestions as to how this cache can be improved, please let me know in your online log. Above all, be safe, have fun, happy caching, and enjoy each day to its fullest. Walleye (Stizostedion vitreum) - These are great to eat and can be prepared in a variety of ways. Typically it weighs 1 - 2 pounds, but can get up to 15 pounds. It inhabits large, cold water rivers and lakes. It is frequently found near boulders, points, and humps. It spawns in the spring when the water reaches 45 - 50 degrees, over rocky bottoms in rivers. It prefers eating leeches, other fish, crayfish, and insects. Minnow, night crawlers, jigs, and plugs and spinner combos can be used. It is found in AL, AR, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN, and TX.
