The Cameron Park Rotary Club Community Observatory is your window to the night sky in El Dorado County. The observatory was conceived by the Rotary Club of Cameron Park as a community service project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Rotary International. Located on the grounds of Folsom Lake College, the observatory is open free of charge to the general public on most Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Check the observatory’s website for a list of available viewings.
If you find the main gate closed, you can park at the County Office of Education and walk up to the college campus to find the cache. The gates should be open during all observatory viewing hours.
