This cache was used as part of the Night Gauntlet during FFF7 weekend. If you did the night gauntlet you can log a Find, even if you previously found this cache.
This cache is in honor of Sam McKinney (Sambo) who retired from the FL Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission after 35 yrs working as a fisheries biologist. It was placed after his retirement party at a nearby FWC facility. Sam was a wonderful mentor to many and is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
This cache is along a seldom used section of the Florida Trail that is in need of some caches. From the trailhead, follow the blue blazes to the orange blazes. You are on your own from there. The trail is marked in standard form with two blazes indicating a turn. Be sure to keep an eye out for the turns! Just head over the river (Eaton Creek) and through the woods to the cache (not Grandmother's house). There are some shortcuts, but be forewarned that not all "shortcuts" are what they seem. I encourage you to explore this area of the ONF and place more caches along this great trail.
While in the area, be sure to find "Team Spirit--College Edition"
