This cache was not only placed for the easy launching of kayaks but
for a staging area for The Event, Camp, Cache & Paddle planned
by Katydid & Miles Stone. You will be looking for a micro with
a log sheet and very small pencil. No trade items. This Cache has
the WMF stamp of approval
There is off road, free parking and easy access to the river. You
can choose to paddle North, up river to a small pond and along the
river through a Golf Course (lots of balls for the taking too) or
South down to Bantam Lake. This time of the year there is not much
flow so paddling either way is easy. There are several beaver dams
along the river that require fording, so be sure and wear proper
foot protection. The northern route will take you through lots of
surface weeds but still plenty of water to paddle through. The
Flora and Fauna are spectacular this time of the year. My northern
paddle was 3.6 miles RT and I could have gone farther by crossing
another beaver dam.
