This cache is placed on the Gordon way but is accessible by local forestry walks. And, more importantly. my mums first geocache.
This is past the second summit along the Gordon Way (starting from Suie) in a slightly spooky looking wooded area.
The Gordon way is from Suie Hill car park to Bennachie Visitor Centre or visa versa depending on which end is easier to get a lift from. It takes 6-7 hours and covers around 12 miles of various types of terrain. It doesn’t cover any high peaks, but is fairly steep in places. My mother, who is 60 and not particularly fit managed it in 6 ½ hours. Don’t tell her I described her like that.
The final scramble to the cache is has a few unsuspecting looking deep holes. Please be careful. The Gordon Way is considerably less fun with a sprained ankle.
If you’re not doing this cache as part of the Gordon Way, there are picnic tables at the summit of the hill and also a trig point, if you like that sort of thing :)
