Geocache Description:

This is easily accessable, placed close to a well marked and well used footpath. Buggy friendly but may be slighty muddy and boggy in places after heavy rain. There is a drainage ditch close to the footpath so take care of little people. As it's a small container bring a pencil. During the week this is a very popular running area at lunchtimes so beware of muggles. Parking available at N53 06.204 W0 08.673

Although, sadly, Tornado went out or service 31 March 2019 I intend to leave the title of the cache the same as a nod to the history reflected in the listing and the original inspiration for the cache. Hurricanes, Tornados & Typhoons does not refer to the wild Lincolnshire weather but to some of the aircraft you might be lucky enough to spot when you do the cache. This cache is placed in a good position to spot some of the comings and goings from RAF Coningsby - Hurricanes from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Tornados from 41 Sqn and Typhoons from any of 3(F), XI, 17(R) or 29(R) Sqns. I've tried to get the best GPS lock over three weeks and taken an average - if you get a better location please list it in your log. For more information on aircraft types have a look at www.raf.mod.uk/rafconingsby
