years ago, in a former lifetime, i used to be a tough, big-city detective. i still remember some of the unusual cases i handled. on one occasion i had a shoplifter's shoe that i eventually tracked down to a foot-loose doll. she had fallen on hard times, so she became a beautiful beggar. she felt that she had gained too much weight, so she only worked briefly as a reluctant model (halve it). but, in my opinion, she still looked sharp in those fancy threads.
i remember another case in which a fenced-in woman (-51), actually a lonely heiress (halve it), was beaten by her husband. sadly, she had become a black-eyed blonde (double it). we issued a warrant for her abusive spouse. when we finally caught him--after being on the run for several months--he looked tired and scared...a haunted husband (use last digit).
boy, i sure am glad i have retired from the force. nowadays, instead of hunting for felons, i hunt for caches...
