FIRST STATE BANK
OF
LONG LANE MO
‘THE SMALLEST BANK IN MISSOURI’
OPENED ON AUG. 15, 1910
BY NOV. 1926 HAD A CAPITOL OF $46,500.
IT SURVIVED THE GREAT DEPRESSION
AND A ROBBERY IN THE 1930’S
THEN MERGED WITH BANK OF BUFFALO IN 1938
This old bank is definitely a piece of history that you need to
see. I don't think you will find another one like it anywhere. The
outside is pretty well restored but the inside still has a long
ways to go.
The cache container is a Lock and Lock and is approximately 6in
x 6in in diameter and it's 3in deep. It is large enough for small
trade items, Geocoins, and Travel Bugs.
Very little walking to get to this one. You can park within 40
feet of it. I thought about listing it as Handycap and stroller
accessible and it probably is, except you have to go over a grass
lawn to get to it.
There's Missouri Lottery Tickets for the
FTF
This bank is now owned by Long Lane
Lions Club. Thanks to Ray Burd of The Long Lane Lions Club for
giving me permission to place this cache here.
