Geocache Description:

Cache located in Willowdale State Forest which offers trail-use opportunities on 40 miles of trails and fishing and boating on 100 acre Hood Pond. There are no developed recreational facilities at the Forest, which exists as two separate parcels divided, by Route 1. The eastern block of the Forest abuts Bradley Palmer State Park and the Ipswich River. The cache is is located in a standard lock 'n lock container. Parking at N42 41.087 W070 54.226. 2.0/2.0

Parking is available at N42 41.119 W071 53.979. Also there is parking at N42 41.087 W070 54.226. Trail maps can be obtained at: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/print/WillwdaleHoodPd.pdf This is a 9' x 6' lock 'n lock box. It was initially stocked with a Winnie the Pooh hangup, 2 small stuffies with RickAnn wooden nickles, package of sea shells, large glass marble, rubber xmas ball, and a toy truck.

Please DO NOT leave Travel Bugs or Geocoins, as they have a habit of growing legs and walking away.

Please limit swaps to good trade items. Willowdale State Forest offers trail-use opportunities on 40 miles of trails and fishing and boating on 100 acre Hood Pond. There are no developed recreational facilities at the Forest, which exists as two separate parcels divided, by Route 1. The eastern block of the Forest abuts Bradley Palmer State Park and the Ipswich River. Enjoy the many trails in the area. Be careful of ticks, mosquitoes and road apples, especially in the summer. Have fun. Activities Hiking, birding & nature study, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, bike riding, and horseback riding.
