Tell the story of what brought you to the area to cache in the first place. “A funny thing happened when I was on the way to Fountainhead. It started when I decided I could make better time on the Big Dog Caches if I were train a pack of squirrels to pull me on my rollerblades …….. ”
TRAPS—Danger: Bridge Out
Many things can happen after the cache has been placed that change the ratings or present cachers with new challenges and dangers. For example, in the NOVA area its nice to know if I should where tennis shoes or mud boots on the way to the cache in the spring.
TRADES—What You Took/What You Left
Helps us keep track of our travel bugs and coins from a distance “T-scattered spider webs, 3 ticks and possibly yellow fever L-skin from right knee (please let me know if you find it)”
THANKS—Just Like Your Mama Taught You
If you enjoyed the cache, let them know it. “ Thank you for placing the cache just on the other side of the river from the parking location, if you had put it on the near side I would never have had the opportunity to trudge through those 4 miles of swamp while trying to find a way across.”
