wisewol: The sign has now been removed and work going ahead with the new dual-carriageway. It seems GZ will now be the location of a junction on the new road, and there is unlikely to be anywhere to park. Time to archive methinks. Thanks to all who have visited the cache.

Geocache Description:

This is an easy dash and cache placed at the highest point of the Head of the Valleys road (A465).

I go this way regularly on the way from home (in the Midlands) to my daughter in Pontypridd. There do not seem many caches on this route, so I thought I'd place one. The cache is an attractive 35mm film cannister. The sign says that this point is 1350 feet above sea level. The altitude on my GPSr can't be bad as it reported it as 1349 feet!

There are parking laybys for both East and West bound about 500 feet East of the cache. Be careful with geokids as this can be a very busy road.
