Geocache Description:

This geocache is a tribute to Mrs. BBD's grandmother's strength in the face of a diagnosis of breast cancer. The large black ammo can (black with a pink ribbon on the top) is located along a portion of the NWO Rails to Trails, in South Delta.

Please trade only PINK items, to keep with the PINK theme. Please, leave the pink ribbon pin in the cache.

Those of you in NWO may remember that early on in our geocaching days, we dedicated a cache, “Survivor” to Mrs. BBD’s Aunt who had been newly diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2004. Link to "Survivor" geocache We really appreciated the support from all the cachers who found the cache and shared their stories. My aunt had a tough recovery, working up to find the cache by hiking the long way to the cache through Sidecut Park. In 11/07, she will be a 3 year survivor.

We pulled the cache a year later. We intended to rehide the cache later. We never found a reason to put it back out. Unfortunately we now have a reason.

Mrs. BBD’s paternal grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 weeks ago. She noticed a change during a breast self exam. The mammogram didn't even appear abnormal. They took a biospy anyways. Mrs. BBD brought her home from St. Luke’s Hospital to Delta the day this cache was hidden, 1.5 miles south of her home. She is still doing great today, a survivor since 8/24/2007.
