Geocache Description:

Thought I'd get in on the Motorway Mayhem game and this junction seemed to be crying out for it. The M9 goes from near Edinburgh to way up in the frozen north passing a few badlands on the way. The M80 joins here at the Stirling services and access is from/to all directions. It's quite a small services but there are all the usual amenities there including over-priced fuel. Access to the cache area can only be got by parking at the services (the land is trapped on all sides by motorways) and then by passing through the lorry/caravan parking area and up a track. This brings you out onto a bit of rough ground, a good place to stretch legs if you're on a long journey. At the cache site you get surprisingly good views over Bannockburn and beyond to the new wind farm, across Stirling to the castle and Wallaces Monument (though obviously you won't be surprised now because I've told you already!). A good view of Dumyat and the rest of the Ochils to the east is there with sight of a lot of the foothills too. Enjoy.
