Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center in Juneau, Alaska. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR TRAIL CLOSURE THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER DUE TO BEAR ACTIVITY.
Start near the Moraine Trail. There will be a little bushwhacking closer to the cache. Be wary of bears- both brown bears and black bears frequent the area from July-September.

Begin this trek near the Moraine Trail. The viewing platform over the creek is an excellent spot for bear watching as the little creek there is a frequent hangout for black bears, so be sure to bring your camera. We've been fortunate enough over the last couple of years to see Glacier Bear Cubs here feeding with their mothers. This trail will take you right past a pond where some beavers have their lodge, check it out it's pretty cool. When you cross the boardwalk bridge keep an eye out for the ducks in the creek, there was a pair off to the right sitting on the rock. When you get closer to the cache you will need to do a small amount of bushwacking to get to it. The cache is green ammo can. It was placed under a spruce tree.
