For the Birds Traditional Cache
OReviewer: Hello,
As there's been no response to the earlier note, I am forced to archive this listing.
If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future, just contact me, including the GC Code, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Thanks,

An easy little micro overlooking Hunterdon County’s largest fresh water marsh, home to many waterfowl.
We often drive by the Assiscong Marsh Natural Area, part of the South Branch Reservation. It is a pretty spot off the beaten trail (just an expression -- there are no real trails here), and worthy of a visit, especially for you bird-watching geocachers. Bring your own pen, and maybe your binoculars.
Park at the marked pull-off area at N 40 32.397, W 074 50.837. From here, it is about a tenth of a mile walk along the road to the cache. DO NOT PARK ALONG THE ROAD, which is very narrow, subject to two-way traffic, and often mushy along the shoulder. (Particularly after a rain – keep this in mind if you’re wearing work shoes.)
Before or after your search, take some time to admire the 25-acre Assiscong Marsh, which, according to the Hunterdon County Parks Department’s brochure, “attracts and supports a spectacular concentration of migratory and resident waterfowl that use it as a resting or breeding area along the Atlantic Flyway… Regular inhabitants include Canada geese, mallards, black ducks, wood ducks, pintails and many others. Great blue herons and shorebirds can be seen in the marsh when the water level is low… It is also home to other wildlife, such as muskrats and several species of frogs, including green frogs, spring peepers, pickerel frogs, and gray tree frogs.”

The frogs were singing boisterously the evening we placed this cache. It’s a little one; be careful not to drop it in the weeds, and please replace it so that others can retrieve it easily.
Drive slowly and walk carefully along the narrow road, and enjoy this natural area and its creatures.
