Geocache Description:

This is a technically challenging trip. Check local conditions and do not try this unless you are confident that you have the skills and equipment to make it. I know of no way to reach this cache on public property other than by watercraft.

This is one of the pretty places and it is the Hill Country at its best. You will have to secure your boat and walk the last short stretch, but you will never have to leave the creek bed. You are looking for an ammo can at the base of a big tree.

Information, shuttles, and equipment can be obtained from Guadalupe Canoe Livery Highway 281 @ Guadalupe River 830-885-4671.

The river was at 2,800 CFS when this cache was put out, which is more than twice normal. It would be neat to post the river flow and your impressions of it with your log.

Distance from put in to Geocache:
RV Park off 3351 is 11.0 miles
Edge Falls Road is 7.5 miles
Guadalupe River State Park is 3.4 miles

Distance from the Geocache to:
Specht's Crossing is 2.6 miles
Guadalupe Canoe Livery is 6.2 miles
Rebecca's Crossing is 12.7 miles.

All of the river can be technically challenging but the top stretch from Highway 3351 to Edge Falls Road and the bottom stretch from Guadalupe Canoe Livery to Rebecca's Crossing are the hairiest.

The background photo on this page is a total spoiler.
