Winton lay-by. Near the entrance to Winton House, and almost under the 400kV pylons.
This is intended as an easy drive-by Travel Bug posting station.
Winton - a small farmstead, dates back centuries and is named in the Domesday book. It now comprises converted homes, but part still has a working farm. There are medieval fish ponds to the south (no public access).
The pylons you can see are relatively recent addition.
They were constructed in 2000.

Looking at this site. These pylons look like the 400kV L6 model!
PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL ON THIS FAST A684. THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW OVERTAKING SPOTS AND PEOPLE DRIVE ALONG HERE LIKE 'MEN POSSESSED'! PLEASE INDICATE EARLY (ESPECIALLY IF APPROACHING FROM THE WEST). PULL OUT SAFE TOO!!
