Off I-26 at exit 74, Hwy. 34.
East Bound side.
Camoed magnetic(?) container; will hold small trade items/coins/TB's.
This is #71 in a loooong series of caches honroing(?) SC Geocachers.
"Gunkie"?!?
What in the world is a "Gunkie"?
Let us explore this mystery.
What do we know about the elusive, mythical cacher?
Well, he has some caches hidden that are wayyyy cool, like Old State Landing, Reloaded! (GCMZJG); Unveränderlich (GCV1HA); Sassafras Hill (GCV4HW); and his Lakeside Micro series #1-2-3. (We particularly liked doing all 3 of those!)
And you had better pack a lunch on some of those as they are not "P&G's".
We also know he is married to another famous cacher, Midnight cat.
She is just the cats meow!
And we know that they are both Paramedics.
They work hard saving lives every day.
Now thats something to crow about!
A little bird we will not name; lets just call him...uh..."Geoholic28"... told us that while doing "Spidermite" Gunkie swam across the river...while everyone else walked across a small creek (pics to prove it on (GCN8W2) SpiderMite by tands.)
But we may know all of these things and STILL dont know why he is "Gunkie".
Dat some "Gunk"!
No Gunkies (whatever they may be!) were harmed in the placing of this cache but Aries did find a bottle nearby of "Gunk" air injector cleaner on the road and after looking at it...shaking it...then sniffing it a few seconds began singing broadway musicals and dancing on Hwy 34 at high noon.
If you think THATS funny you should try that on a sunday in Newberry County while dresses in shorts and wearing your t-shirt over your head.
It wasn't too amusing to those truckers at the Waffle House across the street......
Oh well....the cache got placed anyway!
