Découvrez un lieu bien connu des lillois, le parc de la citadelle,
plus connu sous le nom de Bois de Boulogne.
Discover a well known place for all Lille inhabitants , the Parc de
la Citadelle, better known as "Le Bois de Boulogne".
Ontdek een plek die goed gekend is onder de inwoners van Rijsel,
het park van de citadel, meer gekend als "het Bos van Boulogne"
UN PEU D'HISTOIRE:
La citadelle de Lille est la première forteresse construite par
Vauban. Après avoir pris la ville, Louis XIV fait construire la
citadelle en 1667 pour protéger Lille. Elle est la mère de
centaines d'autres forteresses françaises car Vauban applique pour
la première fois ses idées en matière de fortifications. Cinq
bastions lui donne sa forme particulière en étoile. C'est
saisissant sur une photo aérienne. Les remparts de la citadelle
abritent le parc certainement le plus fréquenté de la métropole
lilloise, profitez en pour faire une petite ballade et rencontrer
les lillois en goguette...
LA CACHE:
La cache se trouve dans une vieille souche, au pied des murs de la
citadelle elle-même. C'est une boite de 11x11x16cm, dans un sac
plastique noir. Attention, l'endroit peut-être boueux.

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY:
Lille's "Citadelle" is the first fortress built by Vauban. After he
took the city, Louis XIV ordered the construction of the fortress
in 1667, in order to protect Lille. It's the mother of hundreds of
other French fortresses because, for the first time, Vauban applies
his ideas about fortifications. Five bastions give its particular
star-like shape. That's amazing on a picture taken by plane. The
ramparts harbour probably the most frequented park in all Lille
metropole, feel free to take a walk and meet the lillois hanging
around!
THE CACHE:
The cache is located in an old stock, down the walls of the
citadelle itself. It's a 11x11x16cm box, in a black plastic bag. Be
careful, the place could be muddy.
EEN BEETJE GESCHIEDENIS:
De citadel van Rijsel is het eerste fort gebouwd door Vauban. Na
het innemen van de stad, heeft Louis XIV de citadel gebouwd in 1667
om Rijsel te beschermen. Zij is de moeder van de honderden andere
Franse forten, want Vauban past voor de eerste maal zijn theorie
toe voor het versterken van het fort. Vijf bastions geven hem zijn
typische stervorm. Dit is goed te zien op een luchtfoto. De wallen
van de burcht beschermen het meest bezochte park zeker van de
Rijselse metropool, geniet er van om een kleine wandeling te maken
en de Rijselaars te ontmoeten.
DE CACHE:
De cache bevindt zich in een oude boomstronk, aan de voet van de
muren van de citadel zelf. Het is een 11x11x16cm doos, in een
zwarte plastic zak. Opgelet, de plek kan misschien wat modderig
zijn.
