Geocache Description:

Starting point is the Kingstanding car park on Ashdown Forest; N51°02.940 E000°06.659. The round walk from the car park to the cache and back is just over a mile. Finding the cache can be incorporated into the two walks which you'll find directions for at the car park, the longer one (2½ miles) includes some steep inclines. The shorter walk is a pleasant stroll. This area can be a bit muddy in wet weather.

This cache is in the beautiful Ashdown Forest and is based near the spot where we got engaged on new year's eve 2005 (the original location was burnt in a forest fire in early 2010).

From the cache you can see fabulous views stretching as far as the South Downs. In the summer there is beautiful heather turning the countryside into a patchwork of purple and green, while the winter snow bring a truly dramatic perspective to the forest.

The cache is just over a mile's easy round walk from the Kingstanding car park in the forest (car park co-ordinates: N51°03.091 E000°06.051). The forest was made famous as the 'hundred acre wood' by AA Milne's Winnie the Pooh books and many of the sites from the books can be found on the forest.

The cache is a small tupperware box with a log book and gifts for you to take (please leave something for the next visitor). There's also a First To Find pin for our first guest!

You can follow paths up to a few steps of the hiding place, so please do stay on them. From the car park there are directions to two walks, the longest being 2½ miles with some quick steep uphill walks, the shorter being around 1½ miles and much gentler. If you would like to do the walks then finding the cache can be incorporated into this, albeit with a bit of a diversion. Please note that this area can be a bit muddy in wet weather.
