This is a three-part multicache that will take you to Longview Park and Reservoir Park in Rock Island to gather information leading you to the cache, a micro located just outside Reservoir Park. This cache is a seed from "C-Dog found his 1000" by Madkaw&Red.
I wanted to place a cache in each of the Rock Island parks; however, current policy requires park-board approval of the cache and location, removal of the cache by March 31, and resubmission for 1-year park board approval if the cache is relocated within the park. Therefore, I am creating a series of 3-part multicaches that take you to two different Rock Island parks for information leading to the coordinates for a micro cache located near, but just outside, the second park you visit.
For all you will need your own pen. For some you may want an extraction device. Gold dollar for FTF.
Longview Park has many amenities including a conservatory, greenhouse, flower gardens, playground equipment, picnic shelter, volleyball, outdoor ice-skating, tennis courts, walk/jog path and 39 acres of green space. Longview Park is the home of Whitewater Junction, the railroad-themed water park. Longview also hosts a Disc Golf Course.
Reservoir Park offers ball diamonds, playground equipment, and a football/soccer field.
Part 1
Go to the coordinates above which take you to the parking lot at Longview Park where there is a large park sign, visible from your vehicle, and answer the following question:
How many yellow arrows are on the sign? A____
Follow the signs west to the Swimming Pool/Whitewater Junction Waterpark. Near the building is a white railroad crossing with 2 smaller signs below it, visible from your vehicle. Double the number in the top sign for B____
How many letters are in the first word on the lower sign? Add 1 to that number for C____
Part 2
Now go to N 41° 29.631 W 090° 34.055 in Reservoir Park and answer the following questions:
What is the first date on the monument? 19... D____ E____
How many round plaques are there? F____ G____
Part 3
Now figure out the coordinates for the cache located just outside Reservior Park:
N 41° 29.(C)(B-E)(F-B) W 090° 34.(A-B-D)(G-E)(C-D)
