Geocache Description:

This is a three-part multicache that will take you to Douglas Park and Sunset Park in Rock Island to gather information leading you to the cache, a micro located just outside Sunset Park. This cache was a seed from "C-Dog found his 1000" by Madkaw&Red.

I wanted to place a cache in each of the Rock Island parks; however, current policy requires park-board approval of the cache and location, removal of the cache by March 31, and resubmission for 1-year park board approval if the cache is relocated within the park. Therefore, I am creating a series of 3-part multicaches that take you to two different Rock Island parks for information leading to the coordinates for a micro cache located near, but just outside, the second park you visit.

For all you will need your own pen. For some you may want an extraction device.

Douglas Park has several ball diamonds used for youth baseball and softball league play.

Sunset Park is 250 acres of wooded park land. Amenities include Lake Potter, a 50 acre protected lake, with outlet to the Mississippi; an overlook tower; picnic area; playground; and a walk/jog blacktop path. Sunset Park is also a starting point for the 65 mile Quad Cities bike path on the Riverway Trails system.

Part 1
Go to the coordinates above which take you to a large brick building, originally a fire station, located on the corner of Douglas Park. On the front of the building are some words, visible from your vehicle; answer the following questions, :

What is the fire station number on the building? A____

What are the black numbers on the door? B____ C____ D____

Part 2
Now go to N 41° 29.415 W 090° 36.195 to a location along Skafidis Parkway and answer the following question:

How many cement parking markers are there in this parking area? E____

Driving back toward the entrance of the parkway, find the split-rail fence. How many posts are on the fence? Double that number and add 2. F____

Across the road from the split-rail fence is a wooden bench. How many wooden boards are there up the back of the bench (there are the same number of boards on the seat of the bench)? G____

Part 3
Now figure out the coordinates for the cache located just outside Sunset Park:

N 41° 29.(A+D)(E-A-D)(G+C) W 090° 36.(D)(F-E+D)(F-B-D)

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.
