This is a three-part multicache that will take you to Ben Williamson Park and Saukie Field in Rock Island to gather information leading you to the cache, a micro (camoflauged to look natural in its setting) located just outside Saukie Field.
I wanted to place a cache in each of the Rock Island parks; however, current policy requires park-board approval of the cache and location, removal of the cache by March 31, and resubmission for 1-year park board approval if the cache is relocated within the park. Therefore, I am creating a series of 3-part multicaches that take you to two different Rock Island parks for information leading to the coordinates for a micro cache located near, but just outside, the second park you visit.
For all you will need your own pen. For some you may want an extraction device.
Ben Williamson Park includes a boat ramp for smaller watercraft including canoes, rowboats and kayaks. The park is home to the Backwater Gamblers Water Ski Shows. (Note: at this time the park is flooded and you cannot enter it, but you can get to the sign at the entrance.)
Saukie Field has a ball diamond and soccer field.
Part 1
Go to the coordinates above which take you to the entrance to Ben Williamson Park where there is a sign, visible from your car, on the west side of the street and answer the following questions:
How many words are on the top line of the sign? A____
How many lines are on the top sign? B____
How many letters are in the last word on the lower sign? C____
Part 2
Now go to N 41° 28.796 W 090° 33.144 to a sign on the shed in Saukie Field, visible from your vehicle, and answer the following questions:
How many words are in the name of the first team listed? D____
How many letters are in the first word of the first team name? E____
How many letters are in the second word of the first team name? F____
Part 3
Now figure out the coordinates for the cache located just outside Saukie Field:
N 41° 28.(C+D)(A+E)(C-A) W 090° 33.(F-E-A)(C+A)(F-C)
