This is a 4 part multicache, designed with adventurous kids, like
mine, in mind. It is a 2-2.5km round trip journey, fairly flat with
a few short gentle climbs but unsuitable for pushchairs. The route
generally follows paths & sheeptrods and all stages but the
last one are situated close to paths. All around is short sheep
grazed grass & whilst it's a serene place to go to in nice
weather, it can be exposed if there is wind or rain.
Before you start reading, can I suggest you regress to your
childhood to enjoy it better. The footnote explains where we're
coming from!
The above coordinates lead you to the first stage of the multi,
with the 4th and last stage holding the "Prized Coin". Each box
gives you the coordinates and a hint to find the next box.
Could you only leave things in the boxes which other children will
enjoy?
The prized coin is a Lackeys Geocoin which we were given when we
made the pilgrimage to Groundspeak HQ Seattle. Do not remove the
coin, leave it for others to find. You can however "discover" the
coin; just remember to take a note of the tracking number.
Hola! I'm Dora the Explorer.
Do you want to join me, Boots and mi amigos "Memory" Map, Backpack
and Geepeyes on a journey crossing Grumpy Old Troll's Bridge and
creeping past Witchy's Wood to discover Boots' Prized Coin? Great!
Then let's go. Vamonos!
Boots' friends Isa and Tico have put some treasure and clues in
hidden boxes, 1 at the above coordinates, 2 just beyond the Grumpy
Old Trolls bridge and 2 beyond Witchy's Wood. These will lead us to
the final cache location holding the Prized Coin.
But be warned, Swiper may have stolen the treasure and clues from
some of the locations already! If you see Swiper, say "Swiper no
swiping" 3 times and he'll slink off saying "Oh, man!".
FOOTNOTE
Dora the Explorer is a Spanish speaking TV character on Nick Junior
TV, aimed at pre-school kids.
In each episode, she sets off on an adventure to find something by
getting past 2 or 3 obstacles. She is helped by her friend Boots,
the monkey. However, Swiper the Fox is always trying to swipe her
things. Sometimes he succeeds, often he fails, when Dora says
"Swiper, no swiping" 3 times and he snaps his fingers and says "Oh,
man!"
