Capt Bourke Park (under
the Story Bridge)
K8 has hidden a small
cache near the inner Brisbane river reaches and to find its
location you will need to visit up to fifteen waypoints in
and around some of Brisbane’s riverside parks and
gardens.
There are fifteen
waypoints, representing the numbers in the cache co-ords (S
ab*cd.efg, E hij*kl.mno) and fifteen questions. At each
waypoint you will need to answer a question to find a number
(ie: a = the number of this bus stop). Each number will
correspond with part of the cache co-ords.
A Translink “2 zone all
day” at $4.10 will give unlimited ferry travel and is
recommended as a good method for tackling the frenzy, unless
you are a keen cyclist.
The waypoints and
questions will be available from 8.30am at the above co-ords,
in Capt Bourke Park (under the Story Bridge, Kangaroo
Pt).
Findalot has found a
whole lot of sausages and he is going to sizzle them for
breakfast while you enter the waypoints and plan your
strategies.
Then at 10.00am there
will be a “Shotgun” start, with all cachers starting at the
same time.
FTF honours and a
trophy will be up for grabs for the winner.
The cache will be
published after the event, so all finds can be
logged.
Pack your picnic hamper
and a few bevies and stick around after the frenzy for some
lunch and an exchange of caching tall tales and
true.
NB:
There is 1 rule for the day (apart from normal
Geocaching courtesies). While we welcome and encourage groups
and cachers to team up, to keep it fair for all, all groups
and teams must visit the waypoints together, no splitting up
and correlating results.
NB: You may find
it an advantage to download and print the map and don’t forget a
pen or pencil
