Geocache Description:

PLEASE WATCH FOR WASPS IN THE NEAR VICINITY! Cache is a micro, log only. Don’t forget to bring your own pen! With these containers it’s easiest to roll the log up and put it in the lid, then screw the body onto the lid.

This cache is not right out in plain sight but it shouldn't be too difficult to find either. The trees do tend to throw the GPS reading off a tad but use the clues if you need them and search thoroughly. Please don't put in your posting that it isn't there unless you're absolutely sure it isn't, that just makes other people think it's been muggled and they avoid it altogether. We'd like for everyone to be able to enjoy the cache and the series!

Rose Hill Cemetery was started with the death of the daughter of Benjamin Ladd Reynolds in the early 1800’s. Benjamin was born in 1811 and died in 1862 from exposure after hiding out from Confederate Bushwhackers. He was buried at the family cemetery which was located on the old Reynolds homestead, now known as Rose Hill.

The cemetery is open at all times but there are very close neighbors who have dogs, so they asked that we only visit during daylight hours. Be respectful to the residents and the neighbors, and they would appreciate if you’d practice CITO.

Placed with permission of the Cemetery Committee President.

A little about our “I See Dead People” Series:

If you feel a tap on the shoulder and turn to find no one is there…If you hear voices, moaning, or crying and you’re the only “living” being on the premises…If the dog refuses to get out of the car...If your GPS battery goes dead at the same time your cell phone shuts itself off…you might not be alone. A cemetery might be just a final resting place for a soul at peace. It may also be the home of a soul who doesn’t want to rest but prefers to take out it’s misery on those who wander into it’s path.

Enter at your own risk. If you have to run out, do it carefully so that you don’t disturb stones or markers in your way. Try not to scream and make the neighbors nervous. Carry a cross (and maybe even a bible) just in case. If you see someone who doesn’t belong—someone who is dressed oddly or smells badly—whatever you do, don’t look them in the eye. Check out the backseat before you get into your car. When you pull out of the drive do not leave tire marks, ruts, or skids.

Have fun, but if you have any close encounters we would appreciate being notified. Some of the cemeteries in this series are rumored to be haunted but we wouldn’t want to alarm anyone unnecessarily!
