This Cache is located at the Underwood Mt Trailhead. It is a nice hike but the cache is a quick grab out of the car for those not wanting to hike.
This cache is nicely located just off of Cook-Underwood Rd in the Underwood area. It is not far from the "I can see for miles" cache. Take Cook-Underwood Rd up to Kollock Knapp Rd. Turn onto Kollock Knapp and go .8 miles up to Scoggins Rd. Turn Right onto Scoggins and just up on the left is a Gravel Rd with a sign "Private Road". Turn onto the Gravel Rd and park to the right in the wide area. You will see blue sign board that says "Closed to Motor Vehicles" at the side of the road. This is the trail head. Be sure to park well off of the road as Log trucks and other users travel on the gravel road.
The trail and Cache are on SDS lumber Co land. The board of directors and many SDS employees are avid outdoorsy people. We are fortunate that they have allowed hikers bikers etc on their land. This trail is popular with hikers and mountain bikers so be aware it is a multi-use trail.
The Cache is located just past the trail head and is just off of the trail a little. It is in between the trail and Scoggins road. Our GPS showed and accuracy of 65 to 85 feet so you may want to have the hint handy. Also please re hide the cache well as it is close to the trail and the location is visible from Scoggins rd.
If you wish to hike this trail it goes to the top of Underwood Mt where an antenna station and some nice views are hidden away. Just keep going to the right. The trail has many forks that go back to the dirt road you parked on, if you stay to the right and keep climbing you will make your way up the mountain. Eventually higher up the trail after 3 or 4 rights you make a few lefts to keep climbing. Just remember as long as you are climbing you are heading the right way if you flatten out and go to a road you have shot off the trail. Once at the top, the antenna station is marked no trespassing. If you walk down the road and explore a few off shoots you will find some great views.
We think this is an awesome Mt Bike trail because it is single track but not too technical. It is a woodsy fun run and is popular with local bikers!
We hope you enjoy discovering one of Underwoods best kept secrets.

PS. Please rehide the cache well as it can be seen from the road. Thank you
