Geocache Description:

The University of Guelph Historical Tour includes 22 stages around campus and will lead you through history, visiting significant buildings that bear the names of those who have made invaluable contributions to the development of the University of Guelph. The posted coordinates will take you to Stage 1.

Also included are a few stages at other interesting campus locations along the way. This tour/cache should take around 2 to 3 hours to complete, covering a total walking distance of approximately 4 km.

IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO ENTER ANY OF THE BUILDINGS TO OBTAIN THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO FIND THIS CACHE.

At most of the first 21 locations there are outdoor plaques near the front doors of the historical buildings. These plaques give the history of the buildings and the people that these building are named after. These plaques usually supply the information required for this cache. A few of the stages are at less historical but other significant or interesting buildings/locations along the way. At some of the locations there is either no plaque or the plaque is located inside the building. At these locations you will need alternate information that can be obtained outside.

Also, please make sure you use the crosswalks when crossing the streets on campus.

Parking - Evening, weekend and holiday parking on campus is free and typically plentiful at most of the many parking lots on campus (watch for signs indicating exceptions to this). On weekdays public parking is only available at metered spaces at many locations around campus. If you park on a weekday in an un-metered space without a parking pass, you may be ticketed and/or towed by campus police.

The recommended parking lots are:
