Geocache Description:

This cache is a 50 caliber ammo can filled with kid-friendly items for trading. Many of the new items were picked out by 7-year-olds.

The cache is located near a parking area at the convergence of Warm Springs Creek Road and the Middle Fork of Warm Springs Creek Road. From the parking area, the cache is located about 300 feet uphill. Don't let the hill scare you, though, as our 7-year-olds made the hike easily. There is a semblence of a trail that will take you close to the cache. Vegetation is light. There is a terrific boulder field just uphill from the cache that provides wonderful climbing and exploring adventure for kids and adults, complete with several cave-like features. There are also several interesting forked trees within view. Cache is well-hidden and covered by wood.

The drive to the cache is beautiful and if you are travelling from Montana City to Alhambra (or vice versa) through the Elkhorns, you are in for a visual treat. There are also several other caches along the way worth finding!

This cache is placed in rememberance of our family friend, Java Bear Mallard Master, who for 13 years was a true friend, excellent waterfowl hunter, and the epitome of a black labrador retriever.
