Geocache Description:

Dr Laver's Medicine is one of over 30 caches on the Outback Way-finder Trail - the longest Geocache trail in the world.

G'day Geocachers, Dr Laver's Medicine is inside the Explorers Hall of Fame Museum - a 'must see' when in Laverton. The town was named in honour of Dr Charles Laver - a dashing physician who 'refused treatment to no one'. Dr Laver also had a case of 'gold fever' and was an ardent prospector and entrepreneur himself. The purple flowered plant near the cache site is a member of the Plumbago family - once thought to be a cure for lead poisoning. It may have been used medicinally by Dr Laver, we will never know for sure. Activity: Visit the Museum to learn much more about Dr Laver. Ask the staff for the cache. How did he get around the Goldfields? Where was he born? When did he die?
