Geocache Description:

This cache is situated along the Tissington Trail. The nearest car park is at N 53° 03.970 W 001° 44.160.

Visit either along the trail or by footpath about a mile from Tissington , a village largely unchanged since the 1700’s.

It is about half way between two other Trail caches “In a Tiss” and “Remember Wallbrook” so you can pick up a threesome in a six mile hike or bike ride.

Crake Low is a nearby ancient burial mound. It is shown on the OS map. In 1848 the barrow was opened to disclose human bones and a fine Bronze Age earthenware urn.

If you visit in the autumn the locality teams with briars laden with blackberries. At other times of the year seek the houses in Tissington where excellent jams and pickles are for sale. In spring you have to make do with the sight of new born lambs.

The cache is a clear plastic 6" x 6" x 3" lunch box with a selection of goodies and room for swaps.
