Geocache Description:

Welcome to Loree Forest

Loree Forest has the most popular hiking, biking and dog walking trails in the area. Parts of it are on the main Bruce trail, as it offers a wide variety forest, spectacular views and a well beaten path.

This is one of the few sections of the Bruce Trail where mountain biking is allowed. Just remember to be courteous, as this is a shared path. While the main path is flat enough to accommodate novice mountain bike riders, this cache is on a side path less traveled due to its pitch. It's quite steep and I would not recommend you ride a bike down the side path - even experienced mountain bikers will find themselves pushing their bike back up a long stretch.

If you park on Side Road 21, follow the main path to the top of the little hill. Once you are there, the forest becomes a maze of trails. When you hit the first intersection, I would recommend you take the trail left, but almost any trail will get you where you want to go, eventually.

While you’ll probably find yourself on the top of a ski run, there is no reason to go on them – stay on the paths and you’ll find it.

While there have been recent reports of a cougar in the area, there is far better chance of spotting one on the prowl down in the village.

This cache is highly recommended for a family hike or a long dog walk. Bring water, and maybe even a picnic lunch as this location is almost guaranteed to be muggle free and has a unique view of the Beaver Valley. Once you find the spot, the hiding place will be fairly obvious. Give me a wave, as I can see the cache from my deck – although I’ll need a telescope to see you.
