Georgia on
my Mind Cache
No, not Georgia the State but
Georgia the Town. Geocaching has brought us to areas in
Vermont that we never knew existed. Hiking Trails,
Waterfalls, Historical Markers and more. One of the things I
enjoy the most is finding out about town hiking trails. That
is how I found out about the area where this cache is hidden.
I visited the Town of Georgia website and read
about their town walking trails.
I attempted to hide one alongside
the Horseshoe Barn Road first but the land on both sides of the
walking trail are posted. Since that attempt failed, I came
to this walking trail to check it out. The trails are wide
enough for a vehicle but I would discourage anyone driving on it
unless you have an ATV. There is a small parking area at the
head of the trail. The cache is just a little over 400
feet from the trailhead and you'll only have to bushwack 60' from
the trail.
Walking along the trail we
discovered many frogs and toads. I know we have a local
geocacher who isn't too keen on frogs, if you're her, you may want
to wait until the weather gets a lot colder before attempting this
one.
