Located on Red Hill in Moultonborough. The hike steadily ascends
about 1 and 3/4 miles, which can be tiring, but the view at the top
is worth the climb. From the west: Take Bean Rd. out of Center
Harbor for about 1.6 miles. Turn Right onto Sibley Rd. (at Kilnwood
sign) Turn left onto Red Hill Rd and follow to trailhead. From the
east: From 25, turn right onto Sawmill Dr, then right onto Red Hill
Rd. Follow to parking.
This cache is the reincarnation of GC88F5, Red Hill. Sadly, it was
archived this winter along with a raft of other caches. I did a
little investigating, found the archived cache, gave it a new log
and a new life! Enjoy the beautiful views from the tower while you
are there!
For those who have done the original Red Hill & are asking
"Why didn't he just adopt the old cache?! Now I've got to go back
up there!": Such a beautiful spot deserves a second visit, don't
you think? Actually, I tried to adopt the cache, but it turns out
that the original owner needs to give permission to un-archive a
cache, and the original owner has been unresponsive to emails.
gpsfun suggested I start a new cache. Thanks for the help gpsfun!
:)
