AGT-Venango-Mill Creek Falls Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mr. Ollivander: Hi,

There have been multiple postings recently to this page stating there are new lease holders for this property. The logs indicate the current lease holders do not wish to grant permission for this cache. Please contact the new lease holders to either work out the permission questions or recover your geocache from them. I am archiving this cache to reduce the chance that additional cachers will enter this property. Should you resolve the permission questions, the cache page can be unarchived. If so, please e-mail me through Geocaching.com with the GC Code and the Cache Name.

Regards,
Mr. Ollivander

Geocache Description:

This cache will take you on a 3 mile round trip journey (if you take the right logging roads) and end up at a great location very few of the locals are even aware of. Most of this cache is on well traveled logging roads, but the last few feet of each stage will take you off the trail and possibly into some rough terrain (hence the 4 star rating).

This geocache is part of the Allegheny GeoTrail (AGT), a publicly funded project designed to promote a pleasant and positive experience and image of the Allegheny National Forest region and its gateway communities. The AGT utilizes the growing interest in geocaching to assist both residents and visitors to the area in learning more about the unique attractions in the ten participating counties. This cache contains a unique self inking rubber stamp which you should use to stamp your Allegheny GeoTrail Passport to verify that you found it. When you have found a minimum of six AGT caches, you will be eligible to have your AGT passport validated and receive a commemorative AGT trackable geocoin at participating locations. You must have your official AGT passport with you when you find this cache in order to stamp it. Click on the Allegheny GeoTrail Logo below to visit the AGT website at www.alleghenygeotrail.com for complete details and a listing of participating locations where you may pick up and validate AGT passports to receive your souvenir geocoin, trackable at www.geocaching.com. Click the logo for more information!

You can start your quest at the following parking coordinates: N41.14.792 W079.41.306 From this parking area, you will see the logging road to start your journey. You will see posted signs, but you are allowed to go in here by foot only (the club that owns the land, which I am a member of, does not want any motorized vehicles, although sadly you might see them). As long as you are on foot, you are good to go. The first two stages are micro containers with the coordinates to the next stage. The final is an ammo can that is well hidden, but shouldn't be hard to find for the average cacher. The difficulty here is the terrain at the final cache. Be very careful in this area as the rocks are very slippery and the hillside is steep. If you do some exploring, you will be able to find an easier way in to the cache. The final location is one of the better waterfalls in the area, but one that very few have ever visited. This is a great CITO location, so do so if you wish.
