Designed to get your family out of the hotel.
The Georgian Trail is an old rail bed that runs 35 kms along the shore of Georgian Bay between Collingwood and Meaford. It is ideal for a family bike ride, an easy cross-country ski or a long walk with you dog. While not paved, the crushed gravel makes it wheelchair accessible. If you’re staying ‘in the village’, this trip would make a great family bike ride.
The cache is located near the halfway point near the town of Thornbury. Thornbury even offers the use of a few free bikes for day trips. There are quite a few caches in the area. You could easily make this a multi cache outing.
There are many roads that intersect the trail that enable you to enter the trail. Do not park on Highway 26 unless you have a death wish.
The coordinates will lead you to a short side trail and while there are many muggles on the main trail, they zip by so fast they’ll never see you.
Bring a bar of hotel soap to trade.
