The cache name comes from a Japanese manga story about a Samurai
named Ogami Itto who lived during Tokugawa era of Japanese history.
As the story goes, Ogami was set up by the leader of the Yagyu clan
in order to seize Ogami's post for them themselves. Ogami's wife
and her maidens were murdered, but the assassins missed his one
year old son Daigoro.
Ogami gave Daigoro a choice. He placed a ball and a sword in
front of him. If he chose the ball, his father would kill him,
sending him to be with his mother; however, the child crawled
toward the sword, and reached for its hilt. This signified that he
would take the path of a ronin - a masterless samurai. This
assassin-for-hire team would later become known as Lone Wolf and
Cub. Their vow was to eventually destroy the Yagyu clan and avenge
Ogami's wife and his disgrace.
This cache is in the same general area that the original
Wolf Cache (GC48FB) was located in. The name came from the
nearby Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania
and sometimes you can hear the wolves. If you are interested in
touring the sanctuary before or after you do the cache, you can
make arrangements through their website.
The twist is that it is now a multi cache. Stage one (Daigoro)
will give coordinates to the final stage (Ogami). The finale stage
is a large ammo box.

- 1 Herd of Dinosaurs
