Fireweed Valley
A tell tale sign of the switch from summer to fall in Alaska is
the bright pink blooms of the fireweed. Fireweed is a blooming
plant that literally covers the ground after a fire has swept
through area with the best viewing season occurring around the
middle to end of July.
This overlook will give the potential cacher an incredible view
of an old fire burn and the regeneration of new growth that
benefits both plant and animal.
As always, please be aware that the Dalton Highway should be
treated with respect. Do not travel this road without extra gas,
food, clothing, water, and a spare tire or two.
Enjoy!
