sawmill1: Had a couple of years run but I'll release this location for someone else now.

in our disclaimer.
A short multi, which replaces the original archived Caergwrle
Castle cache in this location (GCH8XJ).
The castle was built in the late 1200s by Dafydd ap Gruffyd. From
here, Dafydd launched an ill-fated rebellion against the English
which led to Edward I's successful military campaigns in Wales.
The ruined castle was rebuilt by Edward but was shortly afterwards
abandoned due to fire damage.
This is a 4 stage multi that takes you up to the ruins. Because the
rules dictate that caches cannot be placed within the boundaries of
national Heritage sites, the final location is about 1km away at a
place overlooking the castle.
There are several places to park in Caergwrle including a good car
park.
The co-ordinates given are at the start of the path where you will
find a sign. According to the sign:
THE NUMBER OF YEARS IT TOOK TO BUILD THE CASTLE (YEAR COMPLETED -
YEAR STARTED) = A.
Now walk to location 2 (N53 06.476 W3 02.158). Here you will find
a marker post.
THE NUMBER ON THE POST = B.
(This has recently got hard to read through vandalism - see notes
and spoiler)
From location 2 follow a bearing of 210 degrees for about 95m, to
get to location 3. Here you will find another large sign. According
to the sign:
DATE IN AUGUST 1283 WHEN THE CASTLE BURNT DOWN = CD.
NUMBER ON THE POST BEHIND THE SIGN = E.
The cache is hidden at the following co-ordinates:
N53 06.(C+1)(B-1)D
W03 02.(A+1)E(D+2)
You are looking for a green ex-army decon container. Please make
sure the lid is firmly closed all round, and re-hide carefully.
Hope you have an enjoyable time....
