Geocache Description:

PLEASE READ THE "ENTIRE" DESCRIPTION BEFORE HEADING OUT FOR THIS CACHE.
Park your vehicle at the Southwest end of Terrace Drive (N 38* 31.434 W109* 30.447) NEXT TO THE SKI AREA and walk Southeast to (N38* 31.388 W109* 30.388). This will put you in front of a trail marker prohibiting Wheeled vehicles, Mountain Bikes, and Horses. From here you can look in the direction of your pointer and see Big Split Rock about .2 miles away.

This cache is placed in a spot above Spanish Valley that my Brother and I used to frequent. It is at a large rock that we called "BIG SPLIT ROCK" because of the big split down the middle, that allow's access to the top of the rock. We used to hike up here with a picnic lunch and have wars, talks, arguments, dreams, watch clouds overhead, and watch the cars and the trucks roll by on the highway and wonder where they came from and where they were going. We also used to wonder when we would get out of Moab. Now that I am gone, it is one of the best places to come back to. I grew up about 1 mile to the Northeast on Spanish Valley Drive and decided to share one of my favorite spots with fellow cachers that enjoy the same activity that I do. So while you are here, climb on top of the rock, lean back and watch the clouds, the cars, and the trucks roll by. Dream of where you came from and where you are going in life. Take a few moments and be a kid again.

The cache consists of keychains and stickers and pens and other things that have "MOAB" written on them. Please feel free to take one and put it in your own 'Memories of Moab'. Sign the log with your name and Hometown, It will be fun for me to look at it from time to time and see where everyone has come from to visit my hometown. (Kind of like the cars and trucks of my youth.)

***ATTENTION***

There is now private property around this area so 'PLEASE' follow the waypoints listed here and you will avoid crossing anyones property. There are a few trails that head in the general direction, please try to tread lightly and avoid the Cryptobiotic soil. Other than that, enjoy the walk and the view. Thanks for visiting. ejoty
