Geocache Description:


This cache is not on an island as the name implies! It is situated along some nice trails and fields near Lake Gardner in Amesbury. Feel free to take the dog along for this one, as the area is frequented by dog-walkers and even people on horseback. This cache was originally slated for a different location on Cape Cod - thus the Great Island moniker.

The cache is a standard ammo container initially filled with a some toys and 2 travel bugs starting on new journeys.

Parking at the lot at the following coordinates (look for the Indian - you'll know what I mean..):

N42 52.383 W70 56.583

From the parking area, follow either trail toward the lake. The cache is a short hike off the trail. Just be cautious of others in the area!

Take some time to enjoy the area and views of the lake!
